When I was young, my mother used to smile and announce it every year around this time. It was a joyous proclamation as we thought of all the fun that the warmer weather would bring. Today, there is so much for us to be hopeful about! Everyone is tired of staying home and yearning to resume their social lives with friends and family. Hope abounds that we can be immunized and safe from the virus very soon. We are hopeful that our “normal” lives will resume and we will have less to worry about.
It is a good time to take a breath and reflect about making up for the things we missed. I am hopeful that everyone will come back for dental care, especially if you have already been vaccinated. We have seen more problems with the pandemic. Due to delays in routine care and increased stress, people have experienced more issues with gum disease, clenching and jaw pain, as well as worsening issues with unchecked tooth decay. Many of us have delayed seeing their Physicians for ongoing care as well. Please get back to your Doctor, so that you can maintain good health. Also, some have gained weight while we were at home. Now is the time to resume healthy eating and some form of activity. Walking, exercise, and Spring cleaning all fit the bill. Annette and I wish you happy Holidays and a wonderful Spring.
