Although we have been inundated with information about the pandemic- new cases, deaths, masks, testing, vaccines, etc., there is something you probably have not heard about. Many of you have concerns over whether the masks you are using are safe and adequate. You have seen the N-95 Respirator masks that Doctors are wearing, and if you are required to use public transit, or be in any "higher risk" type situations due to employment or whatever, there are options you have available to improve your personal protection aside from the standard advice. There is a website available that allows you to download an app to your smartphone that can transform your phone into a scanner. You then scan your face, following instructions, and upload the file and send it to a 3D printing service. They will print a custom-shaped frame with elastics, that you can place over your mask that seals the periphery like a respirator. The air you breathe can no longer take the path of least resistance around the mask and virtually all of the air can be safely filtered. The frames have been fit tested, as is required for N-95 respirators, and found to pass the fit test. You may need higher filtration masks only available to healthcare professionals, and we can provide them should you require that.
